Andrea Curtis is an award-winning writer whose work has been published around the world. She writes in many different categories, including creative nonfiction, memoir, essays, fiction and books for younger readers. Her subject matter is wide and varied but includes nature writing, architecture, literature, food, history and women’s health. Her first book, Into the Blue: Family Secrets and the Search for a Great Lakes Shipwreck won the Edna Staebler Creative Nonfiction Award. The Stop: How the Fight for Good Food Transformed a Community and Inspired a Movement, co-written with Nick Saul, was an international bestseller. Andrea also writes books for young people and teaches creative writing. She lives in Toronto with her family.

The wreck of the J.H. Jones, which Andrea wrote about in her first book, Into the Blue, was discovered on the bottom of Georgian Bay by a dedicated group of shipwreck hunters. See their extraordinary video footage here.
